Peter graduated from Calasanctius Preparatory School in Buffalo and Manhattan College in NYC, before moving to Chicago to study art history at the University of Chicago. Peter would call Chicago home for the rest of his life.

While attending the University of Chicago, Peter started his first job in the food service industry, bussing tables at The Courthouse in Hyde Park. Peter fell in love with the restaurant business and worked in food service for the rest of his life. He held management positions at numerous restaurants in Chicago including the Berghoff, a Chicago landmark in the loop for 125 years. Peter nurtured his love for training and hospitality at the Berghoff, writing training manuals and conducting orientation programs for the employees. He taught hospitality and culinary courses at local Chicago area colleges and in 1986 he assumed the position of Director of Education for the Illinois Restaurant Association. Peter worked with the National Restaurant Association’s educational foundation, where he presented programs to national chain restaurants.

In 1993 he created his own training company, Peter Good Seminars. Peter conducted seminars on motivational speaking, food safety, and hospitality around the U.S. and abroad for the next 30 years. His clients included Kraft, Coca-Cola, General Mills, P&G, Wal-Mart, McDonalds, and many others. However, Peter will be best remembered for the work he did for Chick-fil-A, his biggest and most beloved client. Peter became Chick-fil-A’s go-to instructor for food safety and hosted their annual company-wide seminar on 2 separate occasions.

Peter was a humble servant, an inspiring speaker, and a loyal friend. His work as a teacher could hardly be called such because Peter loved speaking, teaching, and connecting with others more than anything else in the world. His hobbies included sailing, (sailed Race to Mackinac on Lake Michigan for over 15 years), running, (ran the Chicago Marathon twice), and cycling (participated in multiple 100+ mile bike races including the charity Ride for Roswell for 13 years straight in memory of his late sister Mary).
